CEREC® Same-Day Restorations

CEREC® uses CAD/CAM (computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing) technology to quickly, efficiently, and precisely create lifelike restorations while you wait comfortably in the dentist chair.

3-D Cone Beam Scanner

Cone Beam Computed Tomography, or CBCT, is a specialized imaging device used in advanced dentistry. The CBCT uses a rotating cone-shaped x-ray beam to create a 3D view of the inner anatomy of your head and face. The insight from 3D images assists in diagnosing diseases and planning treatment, such as dental implant placement.

Most often, CBCT scans are used to further evaluate conditions diagnosed by your dentist. The sharp high-quality images unparalleled insight for our dentist. In detail, our dentist can visualize your bone structure, tooth position, soft tissues, and nerve pathways in detail.

CBCT Assists with Implant Placement

Our Frisco, TX office uses the Sirona Orthophos SL 3D CBCT scanner.  Some of the dental issues that the CBCT scan can assist with include:

  • TMJ
  • Airway examination
  • Skeletal evaluation
  • Assessment of abnormal teeth
  • Dental implant planning
  • Measurement of dental tumors

How Dentists May Use CBCT Technology

The level of insight is so accurate, CBCT scans are a particularly useful tool for planning dental implant placement. Even more, evaluate if any preparatory treatments are needed, long before the actual procedure takes place. As a result, Dr. Patel can accurately create a plan for your implant surgery.
